Coach Jacob Baca 

Jacob Baca, associate head coach of the 18U Kansas Curve, is a graduate of Goddard High School, class of 2012. After High School Baca took his baseball career to Newman University, where he played for Coach Ehling. His career was ended after his freshman year as a Jet due to a knee injury. He now attend Butler County Community College and plans to major in Business. With his baseball knowledge and experience he looks to take the Curve to the next level of baseball.  He will enter his 2nd season as part of the Andover High School baseball staff. 

Coach Evan Smith

Evan Smith, associate head coach of the 18U Kansas Curve, is a graduate of Wichita Northwest High School, class of 2012. After high school, Evan went on to play college baseball at Highland Community College, where he was an everyday starter in the OF for Coach Rick Eberly and the Scotties. Baseball was an option for Evan after Highland, however he decided to pursue his passion in education. Evan hopes that he can impact the lives of the young men on his team as his teachers and coaches did for him. He currently works for a non profit organization in Wichita that aids those with exceptionalities. After graduation Evan plans to coach collegiate baseball or begin teaching at a local high school, whichever opportunity may arise. He is currently the assistant baseball coach at North High School, located in Wichita, Ks. Effective fall 2018 he will begin his professional career in education at North High School in the Interrelated Social Studies Department. Evan and his wife Kate reside in Wichita.
